"Monster"

This made me think of that REM album that came out a couple of years ago, just because of the title. My overall feeling on this episode was a good one- I liked it. They really have improved over the episodes at the beginning of Season Two. Either that, or I've become accustomed to the changes.

One thing I have to say that I really liked was the part where Quinn admitted that she does come off as shallow and superficial, and that she does wonder why she hangs out with the people who she spends her time with. And I liked it that Daria had the common decency to edit out the portions of the video that would have been really damaging to Quinn. I think that underneath it all, Daria actually does care about Quinn, and that she knows that the actions of others can really hurt sometimes.

My only complaints were the recurring, much less subtle signs of attraction to Trent that Daria exhibits. As I've mentioned before, this has to do with the 15 Daria-Trent fanfics. The other one was the Daria-Quinn body swap. I'm picky about the details, and Daria's clothes fit Quinn way too well. Also, I've had just about enough of Daria's midriff. I understand that it was really just Daria's head on Quinn's body, but that dream freaked the hell out of me as well as Daria.

Overall, good episode. Not the best one yet, but certainly not the worst. And I actually saw it as opposed to sleeping through it! (Thank God Ranma 1/2 was there to keep me up ^_^)
